Boycott Lee-Silsby Compounding Pharmacy

The Lee-Silsby Compounding Pharmacy in Cleveland Heights is making so-called "compounded medicines for autism." The claim (in testimonials, because there is no refereed, IRB controlled research) is that these drugs magically (presumably with sparkles and fairies and rainbow colored unicorns) take away all of the symptoms of ASD. They also sponsor a website, Age of Autism, which is anti-vaccine, anti-medical, pro-Jenny McCarthy (I cannot believe I actually have to type that). Chelation is one of the so-called treatments that Lee-Silsby supports (a treatment to remove heavy metals from the body, a treatment which has been discredited scientifically and which is dangerous to children). Parents are cooking up treatments for their child's autism and administering them with little to no medical supervision. In my opinion, this is tantamount to child abuse. It's funny that these clowns rail against Big Pharma and all the money that they allegedly make on vaccines and traditional psychopharmacological treatments for ASD related conditions, but who is asking Lee-Silsby how much they are making on their baking soda-toothpaste-hocus pocus--voodoo mess that they are selling to desperate parents? You bet your sweet bippee I am.In the meantime, I realize that it is important to support Cleveland Heights businesses. However, as a parent of a child with an ASD, I cannot support a business that promotes medical quackery and sells it as science. You make your own decision.

This is the biggest pack of lies, innuendo and plain old American Medical Association propaganda I have read in some time.

Believe it or not, there are other remedies available to cure disease besides the cut, burn and poison available from your "family doctor".

AMA practices of medicine, i.e. "the standard of care" will leave you a pauper and cause you to die well before your time.

Just stumbled upon this by accident bc I was ordering enhansa from LS Pharm...which is an awesome product for my NO LONGER PDD NOS child bc her spectrum stuff turned out to be parasites and worms. Once treated by a specialist with some pretty hard hitting rxs - zith and alinia for two months she simply flew off the spectrum and is mainstreamed in school, no aids no supports, no delays whatsoever. Turmeric as a supplement may help for yeast....but it is really a powerful antiparasitic. We dont eat it in the american diet as they do in many dev countries....thank God she can take it as a supp. my son needed praziquantel, ivectrin, zithromax, tinidazole, and pyrantel pamoate, again treated by a specialist for parasites once we realized what the autism in OUR family was about. Your dd is PPDNOS...worms and parasites....SO easily treated. some of the meds can be gotten thru LS Pharm, most need to be gotten - like pranzi - thru a specialty pharm, but not a compounding one....and you need to work with a specialist. you cannot have a genetic epidemic....look at the numbers. Every time there is a big immigration trend there is a disease challenge in its wake....this time, with the IT boom, legal and illegal immigration from dev countries, and the global food business...we eat raw veggies grwon, watered, and shipped form places where we would NEVER consume them, much less hand them to our kids....this crazy epidemic of neuro dysfunction is PARASITES that we have not learned to live with yet, and the bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens that they keep re dpositing into our kids and our bodies with each life cycle. Don;t blast parents who are trying their best, or even pharm, that are trying to help. Ultimately though...when you have ascaris roundworms in a body with an inability to fight them off effectively you WILL wind up with ADHD....read medical research on the effects of parasites in immune suppressed populations....too many vaccines, too young, and lots of contact with vectors of disease transmission like public playgrounds, especially those with sand where cats poop at night...google recent Drudge report on toxoplasmosis gondii and also the recent news about discoveries in the UK linking that same parasite to dementia. it is beautiful that you love your spectrum kids....I loved mine too...and I never stopped looking for answers so I could helpo them LEAVE the spectrum of illness into whioch they declined post vaccines...but my unvaccinated dd started to decline too...and thank God we figured out what it was she caught from the others...and it was not a genetic condition, mom! Anyway if any of your kids fit the parasite profile....it is SO SO treatable, and then all the spectrum stuff just melts away. Seriously. Peace and blessings. Diane, mum to three now NT girls with much improved health, and one son still recovering bc he had abx resistant strep and parasites...which made for a very difficult and lengthy treatment process since all the parasites that harbor the strep must be eliminated and the types of things we used for strep before there were abx for it have to be resorted to most of the time, with clindamicin only in emergencies.

Individuals who attack others do so out of fear. My suggestion to you, dear blogger, is to get your head out of the sand. Seek medical advice from professionals that are making a difference in the lives of children living with ASD. They are vast and numerous. Your scare tactics do no more than to show your paranoia, naivety and complete lack in willingness to help your child. Pity your energy should be expended in such a negative way. WE HAVE BEEN USING LEE SILBY PHARMACY FOR OVER 5 YEARS AND HAVE RECEIVED NOTHING BUT HONEST, COMPASSIONATE PROFESSIONALISM. Our son's health has greatly improved as a result of the persistent care of his medical professionals - including Lee Silsby Compounding Pharmacy.

It's apparent you feel some real anger towards people who choose a different path than the one you believe in. So far, medical science has found no guaranteed, cure all, "this is it!", treatment for autism. Each child is different. Each parent feels differently about what to try, who to trust & when to accept that "this is as good as it's going to get". Any parent proactively seeking help for their child- willingly spending months & even years researching treatments that might improve their chances of leading a better life is a parent who obviously cares and is unlikely to act irresponsibly. They don't deserve to be called "clowns" or "abusive" or to be attacked for their efforts- especially by another parent who presumably knows the pain caused by autism.

It's been my experience that for the most part, professionals (like Lee Silby) who are seeking ways to treat these kids, also care deeply about the outcome. Many parents have had a great deal of success using the alternative paths they provide. My own son was diagnosed at 3. We were willing to utilize any treatment that showed promise and didn't pose a health threat to him. We did ABA, speech therapy, OT, GFCF, tons of supplements,-you name it. If it was safe, we tried it. For us, MB12 turned out to be life changing. Our son is now in his second year of high school & living a pretty normal life. B12 doesn't work for all kids, but it worked for ours. I'm grateful it was one of the alternative treatments someone explored.

You have every right to pursue whatever you think is best for your child. But to judge, attack & slander treatments that you obviously haven't researched and don't understand is irresponsible on YOUR part. You may manage to deter some parent from trying the one thing that could have made a real difference for their child. In my book, that is much more likely real "child abuse".

Thank you, "Boycott Lee Silsby Compounding Pharmacy," for your glowing recommendation FOR this pharmacy. You have provided me with all of the reasons I need to do business with them. For the sake of your poor child, I hope that you, one day, wake up to the reality about our medical industrial complex and the fraud and corruption that it is guilty of.

Hi. Did you do this with a doc or ND? What program did you follow?

Lee Silsby is actually one of the best pharmacies I have ever dealt with. My child has sensitivities to many of the ingredients in the medically necessary prescription drugs he has to take - under the care of several specialists. Lee Silsby is able to compound these medications so that my child can take them safely. You're idea to call for a boycott of this business is irresponsible and ignorant.

I'm thinking this blogger just can't afford the products Lee Silsby makes. His beef should be with the health insurance company, not the pharmacy. Lee Silsby is the only pharmacy I trust to supply my child with autism the prescription medications his neurologist recommends that are difficult to compound. I pay hundreds to have these medications shipped across the country past other pharmacies to the east coast because Allen is incredibly careful and an expert in the field of pharmacy. After many years as a customer, my son is doing beautifully and I thank Lee Silsby from the bottom of my heart for providing safe medications and supplements and supporting groups working to bring knowledge to the world concerning autism treatment. Thank you Lee Silsby.
